ClipIt

v1.4 for macOS

Privacy Policy

Your data stays on your Mac

ClipIt is a privacy-first clipboard manager. No telemetry, no cloud, no tracking. Everything stays local.

Data Collection

ClipIt does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.

No analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage data is gathered — ever.

Your clipboard history exists solely on your local machine and is never sent anywhere.

Data Storage

All clipboard entries are stored locally in your Mac's application support directory.

ClipIt uses a lightweight local database that is fully sandboxed to the app.

When you delete clipboard entries or uninstall ClipIt, the data is permanently removed from your system.

No cloud sync, no backups to external services, no remote storage.

Third-Party Services

ClipIt does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

The app makes no network requests during normal operation.

The only outbound connection is an optional update check to GitHub to see if a newer version is available.

Permissions

ClipIt requires Accessibility permissions to read clipboard content and paste items into your active application.

These permissions are requested transparently on first launch and can be revoked at any time via System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

No other system permissions are requested.

Open Source

ClipIt is free and open-source software. You can inspect, audit, and verify the source code at any time.

We believe transparency is the best privacy policy.
